I have nothing against Dimon personally but it's kind of absurd for a third-generation financial professional, who has been surrounded by wealth his entire life to lecture younger generations on how to feel about their economic environment.
When you’re old and wealthy all you have left to chase is status and immortality. Death is the great equalizer, and comes for us all. Cautionary tale to live a well lived life, you only get one, and can’t take the wealth with you.
“People say the next generation’s in bad shape. Really? They’re going to inherit a country that’s worth two [or] three hundred trillion dollars. They’re probably going to live to 120; AI is going to cure some cancers.
“They shouldn’t be bemoaning their situation, they should be looking at the world and saying, ‘What can I make of it? What can I do better than the folks before me?’”
Why do people want to live longer? So we can suffer more for longer? So we can move the retirement age to 80+ in order to continue feeding the capitalist engine? To make the capitalists richer? I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. Rubs me the wrong way
Gen Z may inherit stuff but if they're putting off kids for 20 years due to finances, the money's not going to mean as much when they get it. They can finally move from their childhood bedroom into the master suite: woo hoo:

"Qu'ils mangent de la brioche"* vibes.

Pretty crazy hearing Moravec/Kurweil stuff from Jamie Dimon.
Can't tell if he's the CEO of JP Morgan Chase or if he's the sales rep for a cryonics company.
